Captains are central to the London Foosball League. They organise players, communicate with opponents, support new people, manage availability and help clubs become active communities.

Whether you are already a captain, returning for another season, or thinking about starting a new team, this page gives you the key information you need.
What does a captain do?
A captain is the main organiser for a club or team in the London Foosball League.
​
Captains do not need to be the best player in the team. The most important qualities are reliability, communication and willingness to help people get organised.

Organise Players
Captains help build the squad, check availability, and make sure the team is ready for fixtures.

Communicate clearly
Captains act as the main contact between their team, opponents, and London Table Football.

Support the club
Captains help create a welcoming environment, especially for new or developing players.

Keep fixtures moving
Captains help matches happen smoothly by confirming details, reporting results, and dealing with issues early.
Who can be a captain?
You do not need to be a Pro or Master player to captain a team.

A good captain is someone who is organised, responsive and willing to bring players together. Some captains will lead top competitive teams. Others may help build beginner-friendly Development Division teams.

Captains do not need to be the strongest players.
They need to be reliable organisers.
Captain responsibilities
Captains are responsible for helping their team stay organised throughout the season.

Captains are not expected to do everything alone. Strong teams often share responsibilities between a captain, vice-captain and experienced players.

Squad Checklist
To enter the London Foosball League, each team should have enough players to complete fixtures reliably across the season.

Your squad will need:
A captain
​
A vice-captain
​
At least 4 committed players
​
Ideally 6-8 available players
​
All players with Coral accounts
​
A rough idea of playing level
​
A current or preferred home venue
​
A way to communicate, such as WhatsApp​
You do not need to have everything perfect before registering interest, but the earlier you start organising your squad, the easier the season will be.
Pre-season captain checklist

Confirm your squad
Check who is genuinely interested, who is available regularly, and who wants to be part of the league team.

Get players onto Coral
Players will need Coral accounts for all LTF competitions and leagues.

Choose your club name
Your club name should be portable and not too dependent on one venue.

Estimate your team level
This helps London Table Football place teams in the right division.

Confirm your current home venue
If you have a venue, confirm whether it can host fixtures or club nights.
