# Free table football arrives at King’s College London
London Table Football and KCLSU are launching a new programme to give King’s College London students regular opportunities to play, compete and connect through table football.
Two Tornado tables have now been installed at the Strand Campus: one in The Vault and one in The Shack. Both tables are available completely free of charge to KCL students whenever the venues are open.
## How to play
Students can collect the table-football balls from the bar by leaving their KCL ID. After playing, they simply return the balls and collect their ID.
No previous experience is required, and students do not need to book or bring any equipment to play casually.
The two installations give students access to the same style of professional competition table used at major London, national and international tournaments.
## Building a King’s table-football community
The installations are the beginning of a wider programme being developed by London Table Football and KCLSU.
The programme aims to introduce new players to the sport, connect existing players at King’s and establish regular student-led table-football activity at the university.
Planned activity includes social playing sessions, coaching opportunities and student competitions. Players will also be able to progress into London Table Football’s wider network of weekly playing nights, local events, major tournaments, rankings and league competition.
As the player community develops, the longer-term ambition is to support students in establishing a dedicated KCL table-football society.
## Free launch event on 22 September
The programme will officially begin with the **King’s Welcome Foosball Social** at The Vault on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
The free event starts at 5pm, but students can arrive at any point during the evening and late registrations will be welcome.
It will use London Table Football’s Monster DYP format, in which players compete with multiple partners during the event. This means students can register individually and do not need to arrange a partner beforehand.
The format is designed to be welcoming for complete beginners while still providing plenty of competitive table time for experienced players.

## The UK Championship comes to King’s
The new relationship between London Table Football and KCLSU will also bring one of British table football’s most important competitions to the Strand Campus.
The 2026 UK Championship will take place at The Vault on 5–6 December, when the national champions will be crowned across Men’s, Women’s, Mixed, senior and junior categories.
The tournament is also an ITSF World Championship qualifying event and will give KCL students the opportunity to experience a major national table-football competition on their own campus.

Whether you are an experienced player, have only played casually or have never tried table football before, the new King’s programme is open to you.
Visit The Vault or The Shack, leave your KCL ID at the bar and collect the balls to start playing for free.
